Introduction and Background
Greetings! I am Jim Geier.
This blog is about my fourth successive winter in Bangkok & Chiang Mai, Thailand in late December 2015 and January 2016. The intent is to share my journey, a little of what I did each day with a few pictures of what I saw or places visited.

I will make a couple of posts reviewing my motivation for and events leading up to my return to Thailand, Bangkok for four days and then almost four weeks in Chiang Mai.
As I have said a few times, I’ll try to keep the posts short, but there is much to see in Thailand and thus, much to say.
And just to reiterate my thought on “the journey”, I’ll use one of my favorite quotations, the last sentence in a book named “Up Country” by Nelson DeMille:
The journey home is never a direct route; it is, in fact, always circuitous, and somewhere along the way, we discover that the journey is more significant than the destination, and that the people we meet along the way will be the traveling companions of our memories forever.
“The journey is more significant than the destination…” Absolutely! And what a great journey! I am so grateful for the journey, and the people I have met all along the way.
Next: Background to another return to Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
Jim – Looking forward to the posts.
